NABC Legislative Reception 2025
Report from 2025 NABC Legislative Reception
On March 21, NABC hosted a Legislative Reception in Olympia. The event, sponsored by lawmakers Senator Chapman, Senator Shewmake, and Representative Rule, gave NABC clients and partners an opportunity to show off their products and projects to lawmakers. The most beloved part of the reception is the chance to taste all the Washington-grown and made goodness from our clients and partners. Most famously, Bow Hill Blueberries always brings the much-anticipated ice cream!
These NABC projects, clients, and partners included:
- Audrey Ranz Matheson- Bow Hill Blueberries
- Shannon Bly- Whidbey Island Growers Cooperative
- Andrew Yokom- Puget Sound Food Hub Cooperative
- Sarah Quenomoen- Southwest Washington Growers Cooperative
- Bryant Her- Washington Hmong Farmers Cooperative
- Mouakang Vue- Hmong Association of Washington
- Jacob Slosberg- Boldly Grown Farm
- Jennifer Colvin- Colvin Ranch
- Blake Von Roekel- Genuine Skagit Valley
- Juan Morales- Latinx Business Development Program
The reception was a success and enjoyed by NABC staff, clients and partners, and lawmaker attendees alike.
NABC Executive Director Mike Peroni made the following statement about NABC’s 2025 Legislative Reception.
“We’re grateful for the opportunity to tell the stories of our clients and partners to lawmakers and other decision-makers in Olympia,” Peroni stated. “Connecting in-person and sharing the fruits of farmers’ labor with those who can advocate for them at the state level is a vital part of what we do, and we’re so grateful to lawmakers Senator Chapman, Senator Shewmake, and Representative Rule for sponsoring this event.”
Thanks to Sera Hartman, the event manager, and the rest of NABC’s staff for making the legislative reception happen. And special thanks to Bow Hill Blueberries for always bringing the ice cream. Enjoy some photos and footage from the event below.
