King County Local Food Initiative
How can King County better connect local farms to consumers; increase access to healthy, affordable foods in underserved areas; support our farmers; and create a farm-to-plate pipeline that is more resilient to the effects of climate change?
King County’s Local Food Initiative put those questions to a “Kitchen Cabinet” of local food system experts, including David Bauermeister of Northwest Agriculture Business Center. The report is now available online. Check out the Local Food Initiative website to see the Cabinet’s 2015 Report, including targets and recommendations to strengthen the local farm-to-plate pipeline, along with King County Executive Dow Constantine’s Top 20 priorities for the next two years.
