Business Training
NABC’s clients receive practical training in such areas as management of agricultural resources, development of a business plan, financial planning, quality control, development of marketing strategies, and building a strong brand. Training sessions include joint workshops with State agencies and educational institutions such as Washington State University or one-on-one consultations with experienced professionals. Training is open to all agricultural producers in our five-county service area. NABC also provides informative, practical skill and knowledge-building workshops and courses throughout the year. Courses range from a few hours to several months to complete.
Producing Value-Added Products
Through its industry network, NABC is in a position to evaluate market demands and direct suppliers in the production of value-added products that have the best probability of success. NABC personnel will guide clients through the process of agricultural and business planning; obtaining access to production facilities; establishing quality standards; obtaining working capital; and developing the product format and packaging needed to bring the product to market.
Creating Market Opportunities
NABC’s close ties to the market gives its clients ready access and assistance in entering the market place by the best channel of distribution and with a solid promotional plan. Clients will receive one-on-one counseling on distribution options, buyer presentation, pricing strategies, new product introduction and the development of an annual marketing plan. When market opportunities arise from NABC’s retail and foodservice networks, clients will be notified on a first priority basis.
