DONATE TO NABC
The Northwest Agriculture Business Center (NABC) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to farmland preservation. Donations to the NABC are used to support our mission to preserve farmland by strengthening the economic vitality of farming in northwest Washington.
Generous gifts from community partners will help sustain NABC programs, including:
• Puget Sound Food Network (PSFN) is a staff supported online tool enabling limited income food producers and small businesses to create new market opportunities in the Puget Sound region, and creates collaborative partnerships in order to strengthen our regional food infrastructure.
• Workshops on value-added production methods, such as Transitioning To Value Added Products course for food producers and Cider Making Principles and Practices.• Greenbank Farm CSA Training Center is a pioneering project on Whidbey Island training new farmers in small-scale organic agriculture through classroom education, field trips, and the hands-on operation of the 50-member Greenbank CSA.
• Whatcom County Food System Project is helping to increase the consumption of local foods in the K-12 school system, and promoting mechanisms by which local farmers can increase production and at the same find increased markets
for their produce.•The Whidbey Island Grown brand was established by local farmers and residents to increase awareness and consumption of agricultural products grown on Whidbey Island. Funding assistance was received from local donors and the Washington Department of Commerce. Agricultural areas are an important part of what makes Whidbey Island such a special place to visit and live. To preserve farmland and economically vibrant farms, primary goals of NABC, locally grown products will be promoted through use of the new brand.
• Ongoing product development and marketing of local products like Skagit Fresh Sparkling Juice, a farmer owned company.
