Plane Emissions Pose Threat to Climate Change

According to recent reports from the UK Climate Change Committee,  it’s not just cars and cows that are contributing to CO2 production. Airplanes could account for 15-20% of all CO2 emissions produced by 2050. The CCC has made some drastic, albeit slow, recommendations to the UK:

Aviation emissions in 2050 should be cut to 2005 levels.  This in combination with 90% cuts in emissions from other sectors could deliver the 80% reductions needed and legally required by the recently passed Climate Change Act.” Furthermore they recommend that other developed nations (hint, hint USA) must make an effort to reduce emissions by 50% in the same time span.
